MBA & BBA admission process

MBA (Regular)
- 1Entrance exam
CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, NMAT, or SNAP, depending on the institution — see our Exams reference for which exams which colleges accept.
- 2Application
Submit the institution's application along with your exam score, academic records, and (for some programs) work experience.
- 3Shortlisting
Institutions shortlist candidates based on exam percentile/score, academic profile, and sometimes work experience.
- 4Group Discussion / Written Ability Test
A subset of institutions include a GD or WAT round before the interview stage.
- 5Personal Interview
The final stage for most regular MBA programs — assesses communication, motivation, and fit for the program.
- 6Offer & enrollment
Final merit combines exam score, academic record, and interview performance. Offers typically arrive within a few weeks of interviews concluding.
BBA (Regular)
- 1Entrance exam or CUET
Some institutions run their own entrance test (e.g. SET for Symbiosis-affiliated colleges); many others admit through CUET or Class 12 merit.
- 2Application
Submit Class 12 marksheet, entrance/CUET score if applicable, and the institution's application form.
- 3Merit list / interview
Some institutions shortlist purely on marks; others add a personal interview or group discussion round.
- 4Offer & enrollment
Seats are typically offered in rounds based on merit rank, with a document verification and fee-payment step to confirm admission.
How Online & Distance modes differ
Full-time, on-campus. The process above applies in full, including any GD/PI rounds.
Usually rolling admissions with minimal or no entrance exam requirement — mainly eligibility criteria and document submission. Check the specific program's page for its exact process.
Similar to Online — typically eligibility-based admission with periodic intake cycles rather than a single annual cycle.
